Dr. Ryan Thatcher was born and raised in Salt Lake City. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of Utah.  He then attended veterinary school at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

After graduation in 2012, he returned to Utah to begin his career in mixed animal practice. His experience providing care for multiple species revealed his true passion working with cats and dogs. He has been practicing small animal medicine exclusively since 2013.  Dr. Thatcher enjoys all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine including dentistry, general surgery, and urgent care.

Outside of practice, Dr. Thatcher is an avid canyoneer and has completed certifications through the American Canyoneering Association.  He also enjoys biking, hiking, camping, and generally being out in nature.
